Referral Program Terms

Last updated: June 28, 2026

These terms govern your participation in the Waypoint Budget referral program (the “Program”). By applying to or participating in the Program, you agree to these terms. They are in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

1. Eligibility and approval

The Program is open to financial advisors, creators, and businesses who want to recommend Waypoint Budget. Participation requires applying and being approved by us. We may approve or decline any application, and we may remove a partner from the Program, at our discretion.

2. What you earn, what they save

When a customer subscribes to a paid annual plan using your referral code or link, that customer receives 20% off their first year, and you earn a one-time fee of CA$20 per customer. It is a one-time fee per customer, not a recurring share of their subscription.

Commissions apply to annual plans only. Monthly subscriptions do not earn a referral fee. We may change the fee amount or structure on a going-forward basis; changes do not affect commissions already earned.

3. How referrals are tracked

Referrals are tracked through your unique referral code or link via our referral partner, PromoteKit, and are attributed when a referred customer completes checkout on the web. Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store cannot be attributed to a referral. Please direct the people you refer to sign up on the website.

4. When a commission is earned and paid

A commission becomes earned once the referred customer has been on a paid annual plan and has remained subscribed past their first 30 days. If a referred customer cancels during the free trial, or otherwise does not convert to a paid annual subscription, no commission is earned.

Earned commissions are paid out monthly after a short holding period. If a referred customer receives a refund, the related commission is reversed. We may set a minimum payout amount; balances below the minimum roll over to the next payout.

5. Regulated advisors and disclosure

If you are a financial advisor or otherwise subject to professional or regulatory rules, you are solely responsible for confirming that you are permitted to accept a referral fee and for making any disclosures your firm or regulator requires. If accepting a fee is not appropriate for you, we can instead offer your clients the discount with no compensation to you. You are responsible for your own compliance.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Program for self-referrals or to refer your own accounts.
  • Misrepresent Waypoint Budget, our pricing, or the offer.
  • Distribute your code through spam, misleading advertising, or unauthorized channels.
  • Bid on Waypoint Budget brand terms in paid search or impersonate Waypoint Budget.

We may withhold or reverse commissions, and remove you from the Program, for activity we reasonably consider fraudulent, abusive, or in breach of these terms.

7. Taxes

You are responsible for any taxes owed on commissions you receive, and for providing any tax information we are required to collect.

8. Term, changes, and termination

Participation is non-exclusive. Either of us may end your participation at any time, for any reason. We may modify or discontinue the Program, or update these terms, at any time. Earned, unpaid commissions in good standing will be paid out following termination.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the same laws and jurisdiction as our Terms of Service.
