Two Ways to Connect Your Bank.
EveryDollar Offers None in Canada.

Waypoint Budget plans the month the same way you already do. The free plan adds receipt scanning and CSV import, so you are not typing in every transaction by hand, and bank sync is there on Plus when you want it.

Built in Canada, For Canadian Money

Two bank networks, your currency, your accounts

Two Bank Networks

Waypoint Budget reaches Canadian banks through two networks, Plaid and Flinks, so institutions one misses are covered by the other. Flinks is a Montreal company built for Canadian banks specifically. Transactions sync in the background every 6 hours. Bank sync is on Plus and Pro.

TFSA, RRSP, FHSA, RESP

Registered accounts get dedicated account types on Pro, not a generic balance in a list. Most US-first budgeting apps have no concept of them.

Priced in CAD

Waypoint Budget charges Canadians in Canadian dollars, so there is no conversion and no foreign transaction fee from your card. Free tier forever, Plus at CA$7.99/month, Pro at CA$12.99/month.

Does EveryDollar Work in Canada?

Here is what you can and cannot get

The free web version works. Bank sync does not. Ramsey's support documentation has said since 2021 that users outside the United States, Canada included, cannot upgrade to the paid tier, and the paid tier is the one that connects your bank. EveryDollar is also not listed in the Canadian App Store.

So budgeting from Canada means a browser tab and typing in every transaction by hand.

Waypoint Budget covers that ground from here. Canadian bank sync on Plus and Pro, Canadian pricing, registered accounts, and iOS and Android apps running on the same budget. The free plan covers manual entry, receipt scanning and import.

Compiled August 2026 from published pricing, support documentation and App Store listings.

To Be Fair to EveryDollar

We believe in honest comparisons

The method works: Planning the month before it starts and giving every category an amount is a habit worth keeping. Dave Ramsey has taught it to a lot of households, and if that is how you learned to budget, it carries straight over to Waypoint Budget.

Debt payoff coaching: The debt snowball and Financial Peace University sit inside a wider Ramsey programme. Waypoint Budget tracks debt goals and payoff projections, but it is a budgeting app, not a course.

A free tier, not a trial: EveryDollar does not put a countdown where a free plan should be, and neither do we.

If you bank in Canada, the paid tier is not available to you anyway. Waypoint Budget gives you the parts that matter here: Canadian pricing, registered accounts, and bank sync you can buy here, on Plus and Pro.

Common Questions About EveryDollar in Canada

Does EveryDollar work in Canada?
Partly. The free version runs at everydollar.com in a browser. The app is not listed in the Canadian App Store, and Ramsey's support documentation has stated since 2021 that users outside the United States, Canada included, cannot upgrade to the paid tier. Since bank sync sits in that tier, budgeting from Canada means entering every transaction by hand. Waypoint Budget is built in Canada, bills in Canadian dollars, and syncs Canadian banks through both Plaid and Flinks on the Plus and Pro plans.
Is Waypoint Budget a Canadian company?
Yes. Waypoint Budget is built in Canada by a team of two. Canadians are billed in Canadian dollars, not converted from USD, so there is no exchange rate and no foreign transaction fee sitting on top of your subscription. Support answers from here as well.
Can I use EveryDollar on my iPad in Canada?
Not as an app. EveryDollar is not listed in the Canadian App Store, and Ramsey directs users outside the United States to the free version at everydollar.com, which is a web page rather than an app. Waypoint Budget has iOS and Android apps plus a full web app, all running on one budget, so the device you pick up is up to you.
Will my EveryDollar budgeting habits carry over?
Mostly. You still plan the month before it starts and give each category an amount, which is the discipline EveryDollar teaches. The difference is that Waypoint Budget uses monthly targets against your expected income rather than requiring you to zero out every dollar. Go over in one category and you get a clear number, not a list of chores to complete before you can carry on.
What does Waypoint Budget cost in Canadian dollars?
There is a free plan, then Waypoint Plus at CA$7.99 a month or CA$79.99 a year, and Waypoint Pro at CA$12.99 a month. Those are Canadian prices, not a USD figure your card converts. EveryDollar Premium is priced in US dollars at US$79.99 a year and cannot be purchased from Canada.
Is the free tier a trial?
No. The free plan stays free. It includes unlimited manual transactions, all budget categories, savings and debt goals, the budget calendar, smart categorization, receipt scanning, CSV import and unlimited transaction history. Bank sync is what the paid plans add, and those start with a 7-day free trial.
Can I bring my budget history with me?
Yes. CSV files, PDF bank statements and receipt photos all go through one import screen, with name cleanup, smart categorization and duplicate detection. Import is free on every plan, so your history lands on day one instead of starting from an empty screen.
Can my spouse and I share one budget?
Yes, on Waypoint Pro. You create a household and invite up to 5 members. Everyone gets their own login and sees the same categories, transactions and goals in real time, with a record of who added what.
