How a personal struggle with finances led to building a budgeting app for everyone
I'm the founder of Waypoint Budget. I built this web app because I personally struggled with managing my finances and couldn't find a budgeting tool that truly worked for me.
Like many people, I tried spreadsheets, various apps, and even the envelope method. Nothing stuck. I needed something simple, visual, and tailored to how I actually think about money.

I was tired of feeling anxious about money. Every month felt like a guessing game - will I have enough? Where did my money go? Am I saving enough for my goals?
Most budgeting apps were either too complicated with features I'd never use, or too simple to be actually useful. None of them gave me the clarity and control I needed.
I wanted something that would give me clarity and control without requiring a finance degree to understand.

So I decided to build my own solution. Waypoint Budget started as a personal project - just something to help me get my finances in order.
I focused on what actually mattered: clear visualizations of where my money goes, simple goal tracking, and an AI assistant that could give personalized advice without the financial jargon.
As I built it, I realized others might benefit too. That's when Waypoint Budget was born - a tool built to help everyone take control of their finances.
I believe everyone deserves to feel in control of their finances. Money stress shouldn't keep you up at night. With the right tools and insights, anyone can build a healthier relationship with money.
Waypoint Budget is still growing and evolving. I'm constantly adding new features based on what users need. This isn't just an app - it's a journey we're on together.
Thank you for being here. Let's take control of our finances, one budget at a time.
